What is Playground Surfacing Our rubber Playground Surfacing are 24" by 24" tiles which are permanently placed (usually with the use of adhesive, although they can be interlocked with the use of a metal clip) on top of a hard sub-surface like concrete or cement. The rubber tiles are a safety surface which will protect your loved ones from falls of various heights depending on the thickness of the tiles. Waste tires!!! Over one quarter of them currently end up in land fills. What better idea could possibly exist than converting these same old spent rubber tires into a surfacing product to protect our children playing on our playgrounds! The 2.5" Playground Tile uses two and a half truck tires for every tile made, and the scrap steel used in those tires goes to a steel recycler as well. Think of that next time you place an order for our Playground Tiles All rubber products contain no hazardous materials, they are latex free. Our paint and binders are lead-free, and all the crumb rubber used is 100% recycled rubber from California. Our EPDM particles used for the top 1/4" of the special "speckled" colors are virgin rubber by definition; they allow the use of bright colors which recycled rubber does not.
